Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

Since 1981, Titan Conveyors™ has been designing and building custom conveyors and conveyor systems for a broad range of applications and industries. Today, Titan offers a full line of pre-engineered and custom conveyors and allied equipment sold through distributors, system integrators, and OEM partners. The sales, engineering, procurement, fabrication, and assembly processes are all housed in a single facility, so learning the product or obtaining feedback can be easy to find.

The Product Engineer will be reporting to the President of the company. They will assist with completing new job orders listed on the schedule, contribute to completing parts orders, and providing support to existing products in service. They will be asked to interact with customers, sales personnel, vendors, and manufacturing. Research and development, designing, and drafting skills are required. The willingness to be hands on is recommended. More tasks and responsibilities are listed below.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Designs conveyors/sales drawings/conveyor products and parts.
  • Works with a design team to create approval drawings, design sketches, conveyor layout drawings, and plans.
  • Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
  • Provides the components to control systems.
  • Provide procurement, production, and fabrication support throughout the build and order process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Be mechanically inclined and willing to be hands on.
  • Be familiar with lasering, bending, shearing, and welding practices.
  • Must be self-managing.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team, share ideas, and work to achieve goals through cooperation.
  • SolidWorks PDM and DriveWorks experience.
  • ERP experience.
  • Process improvement training.
  • Laser programming experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical and technical skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read a tape measure with increments down to 1/16”.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
  • May require travel.
